Round 5

Round 5 saw our little monsters head out to Hilder to take on Mets mini Mets. This was easily our best game of the season, the kids a really learning the meaning of ‘Hustle’ and move on and off the field quickly, meaning we got to play a 5 innings tball game. Each week they show what they have been leaning at training and bringing into the game. Well done Linton for player of the week.

Round 5

Round 5 was away against a full strength Red Sox Raptors at Casula. The Grasshoppers played a strong batting game with everyone achieving solid hits off the tee. Well done to Rhyan for being player of the week due to his fantastic performance at Catcher and at the bat. Oscar took out the Maccas award and Tilly got the dugout award.
I am super proud of how the whole team are setting themselves up at the tee and hitting consistently well.
Thanks to Daz, Chris and Nathan for your assistance with the team, thanks to Georgia for maintaining the dugout and to Ellie for umpiring and as always, Kirsty for the fantastic photos.

Round 5

This week saw Caspers Squirrels take on Red Sox for their 5th game of the season. With great enthusiasm for getting to the ball, the game the kids played extremely well against a competitive and experienced Red Sox team with great fielding and hitting by the whole team, with the player of the game going to Chris. Also a special mention to Brandon for receiving last week's player of the game award.

Round 5

Round 5 saw the twins take on the Moorebank Royals. The team took to the field tired, but very quickly picked up their game, leaving the opposition stranded on no runs even after some good hitting. Everyones batting was on fire, considering there was no tee after round 4 and this is most of the team's first year in Zooka, with some players getting first hits. There were three outs at first, all great stops and plays by Nicola, leading to player of the game. Even though the score resulted in a 7-1 loss, everyone had an exceptional game.

Round 3

The Casper’s Sandlot were heading into Saturday’s game with plenty of confidence, however coming up against a well drilled Mets Diamondbacks was always going to be a tough assignment.
After a big first innings from both teams, The Sandlot capitalised on a big second inning effort in the field and with some watchful walks and their bats to take a lead.
However a determined Mets outfit came back strong and the good guys in green managed to hold it in the last to sneak away with a 9-9 tie.
Player of the week this week went to Jess for some disciplined at bats and good pitching to hold onto the game

Round 3

The Caspers Crusaders came to Woodlands Road on Friday Night for their Round 3 clash against Ghosts Night Riders looking to make amends for last week's loss.
Great pitching from starter Baden S and closer Clay S as well as great fielding meant that Ghosts never had much chance to get runners on base.
Good hitting and great pitch selection by all the Caspers hitters meant that the Good Guys in Green and Gold had traffic on the bases throughout the whole game ensuring that by the end of the game the Caspers Crusaders ran out 17 to 2 winners.
Many Thanks to our scorer Liam, our family and friends who came out to support us and to Riley and Jaxon from the Mets club who umpired really well and in the true spirit of the game.

Round 2

After a shaky start last week, Phoenix were looking to improve in pretty much all aspects of their game. In it from the start, we came out swinging with the bats and kept errors to an absolute minimum giving Lakers a run for their money. Special mentions this week go to Blake for his first pitching assignment this season and Damien for his pitching and strikeout in only his second game ever, albeit if pitching by accident. Thanks to Blake today who scored for both teams so Lakers didnt have to use a player to score which would have seen them down to seven. Watch this space for good things to come from Phoenix.

Caspers we keen to kick start there season, but started off slowly, but eventually settled into the game with some solid batting by everyone. Some great out fielding catches by Rhys, which the still cant all believe, helped steer the team. Mad Dogs finished the game 13-11 win, and getting the first win of the season.

Round 1

Caspers hornets took to the field for game one ready for action. A couple of close innings had us feeling in control until Red Sox pulled away at the bottom of the 4th taking them to a 9-1 lead into open digs. We didn’t let the score line stop us and we batted with precision and multiple outfield line drives allowed us to bring the score to 9-9 resulting in a draw for the first game of the season. Special mention to Tom who completed the entire game on the mound and was in fine form. Nice work Hornets, I’m excited for what lies ahead.
