Campbelltown Caspers Baseball Club

We are the Campbelltown Caspers Baseball Club Inc., a proud, inclusive, and family-oriented club dedicated to fostering acceptance and growth for all children. Our club is more than just a team; it’s a family where we support and encourage each other, helping everyone to grow and move forward together.

At Caspers, we’re proud to be home to some truly exceptional talent. Our players have represented the club across a range of competition levels, including state-level representation with NSW—an achievement we celebrate with immense pride.

We’re coming off the back of an outstanding 2024/25 season. Our Division 1 team claimed victory in the winter competition, while our Little League team went undefeated to win the summer competition—an incredible accomplishment.

During the 2025 winter season, we’ve entered four senior teams: two Friday night teams and two Saturday teams. We're especially thrilled to introduce our first all-female Division 2 team—the first of its kind in the Macarthur region in over a decade. Their presence is making waves across the winter competition and shining a spotlight on women in baseball.

Club History

Campbelltown Caspers Baseball Club (Caspers), a proud founding member of the Macarthur Baseball League (MBL), was established in 1983 as Ambarvale Caspers Junior Baseball Club by the late Lee Richardson, the late Ted Richardson, and Jim Rispen. Their vision was to promote the wonderful sport of baseball among the youth in the area. Starting with just 45 children across various age groups, the club joined forces with other local clubs to form the MDJBA. The name 'Caspers' was chosen to align with the district's major league team, the Campbelltown Ghosts, and the club adopted the motto “the friendly little Ghosts.”

In its early days, the club played home games at Rosemeadow with temporary facilities and held meetings at Tallowood Community Centre. The original uniforms were handmade, and it wasn't until the summer of 1986-87 that the club received professionally made uniforms. Caspers enjoyed early success, winning several youth championships.

The club also played a significant role in establishing the local senior competition by hosting social games for adults, which eventually grew into today's competitive senior leagues. After brief relocations, the club found its permanent home at St Helens Park and changed its name to Campbelltown Caspers Baseball Club to reflect the evolving community.

Today, Caspers is one of only two surviving foundation clubs in the MBL and continues to make great strides in improving, innovating, and expanding baseball for the long-term benefit and development of the youth in the Macarthur region.
