Round 16 Catch Up!

Lee Richardson Cup

Over 35s

Caspers Barbarians

The final game of the season saw us as the home team playing against Bankstown at Boggabilla which has felt like home this year with all the games we have played there.

We started the first innings holding Bankstown to two across the plate and answering with three of our own. Unfortunately, that was the end of our good run with Bankstown proving hard to stop with the bat, where we struggled to convert hits to runs despite everyone having some huge hits. Jamie hit two crackers deep into left field!

The Barbarians were a new team this season with about half the team new to baseball. Even though the wins have been hard to come by, we have been competitive in most of our games. We have had a lot of fun and made new mates this year. I hope we can all return for season 2021-22 to build on what we have started. Go Barbarians!

T-Ball

Caspers Grasshoppers

The Grasshoppers fielded an almost full team for the final round of the regular season. We were playing against the Red Sox Raptors at Moorebank and the scene was set for a showdown of epic proportions.

The Grasshoppers started on the field and its fair to say our guys were on fire. The communication between our players was outstanding and once again Charlotte was electric in pitcher - fielding, making snap decisions getting the ball to the bases with speed and accuracy. Eric was equally fantastic in right field with his fielding and making quick accurate throws to first and second and Rhyan never fails to impress on the base, this tme getting consecutive outs at second. Batting was consistent across the board with Eric and Rhyan making some their best hits of the season. Their efforts earned them both the Inspirational Design Joinery co - player of the week awards.

It has been a long season, but these kids show up week after week to games and training and always put their best foot forward. We're looking forward to the gala days the next two Saturdays where they will get plenty more T-ball.

Thank you as always to Chris, Nathan, Grant, Liam and Kirsty for your help in warming up, base coaching, dugout management, bat retrieval and Kirsty's incredible photos. And a huge thank you to Little Buddies Early Learning Centre for your ongoing support of the Grasshoppers. Your generous sponsorship has taken the Grasshoppers to the next level and made them the envy of the Macarthur T-ball league.

And finally the biggest thank you of all to Ty and Kirsty from Tygah Weare for providing the entire team and coaches with our end of season shirts. They are an amazing gift to the team and they look incredible. Thank you!

GO GRASSHOPPERS!!!!

LLMPP

Caspers Sandlot

For the final regular season game, The Sandlot this week took on the Red Sox Panthers at the Casperdome.

Silly Socks were the order of the day, and after a relaxed warm up Sandlot were looking pumped looking to finish in a high.

Bray started on the hill and looked comfortable from the beginning, hitting the zone early. However Panthers were up for the task and pushed across a couple of runs.

Sandlot responded hard, with some good at bats, aggressive running and great hits to take the lead.

The second inning was a quick one, thanks to a sharp double play from Tommie, Nicola and Jess to end the dig without any runs being scored.

Sandlot continued to be aggressive with the bats, with the hits continuing from everyone. Special mention to Noah for his first home run- a huge hit out to right field that was just short of the cones, but rolled foul and allowed him time to run the bases.

Jess and Noah from there closed down the Panthers, while the hits continued including a triple to Harry, doubles to Chris, Bray, and Jess, and Carter, Nicola and Seth getting hits, and Tommie and Jacob getting on base with some patient at bats.

This win cemented our spot as Minor Premiers!!! An outstanding effort from everyone in and involved with Sandlot!!

The coaching staff are extremely proud of each of the players- not just for their skills but for the people they are growing up to be.

Post Season baseball is coming Sandlot- let’s go!!!

Saturday Seniors

Caspers Cartel

The final round of the regular season was at home at the Casperdome against the Mets Patriots. Unfortunately we could only field 8 but we came out to give it our best shot.

The first three innings saw the Patriots get 5 or more over home plate with Cartel replying with just one. But in the fourth, we hit top gear with some brilliant batting and running to get 5 of our own. Sadly, we made our run too late but we at least dented the pride of the Patriots.

We have had a really fun season with a lot of new faces in the roster. I hope that everyone has enjoyed it as much as I have and I hope they will all return for winter and next summer too.

Thank you to Neisha for her fabulous scoring all season, we're very very lucky to have her. Thanks also to everyone who helped with team duties such as umpiring and raking the diamond for home games. A big thanks to Gordo and Willie for umpiring the late game today. It is greatly appreciated.

Word on the street is that we have another shot at glory next Saturday playing Div 2 semi-finals. We're looking forward to it.

GO CARTEL!!!!!
