Round 9 Catch up!

Lee Richardson Cup

Over 35s

Caspers Barbarians

With the coach away and a bare 9 players, Les had big shoes to fill as coach tonight.. luckily though, she’s a size 10!

Barbarians travelled to Boggabilla to take on Bankstown Sports for the second time this season after a previous loss of 17-5.

We got 4 across the plate in the first innings with some dynamite batting. Luke was on fire with his pitching keeping their first innings at bat to 3.

It was like we all jelled in our positions and decided to go against Gus’ lineup change and stick with what worked!

Luke took two great fly ball catches at pitcher, Jamie didn’t let anything past her at second base making two great assisted outs at first and Willy chased every ball down at Centre field.

At bat, Damo took a 3 baser, De hit a corker to centre, Daniel hit a monster to Left field, Jamie hit at every at bat, Ben and Luke both hit 2 basers and James did what he does best at stealing bases!

The final score was 9-7 after the score was reverted back from a whopping 18-7!

While the boss was away the baseball was played and boy did we play!

Sorry Gus, but we’re now the A Team!

Go Barbarians!!!!! Our first win of the season!

As always, Thanks to the lovely Neisha for scoring!

Caspers Crusaders

After a crushing win last week over Mets Wiffles via a forfeit the Caspers Crusaders were looking to continue their winning streak against Red Sox Stingers.

The job was not going to be easy with the good guys in Green and Gold playing short with only 8 taking the field.

Red Sox got off to a strong start hitting hard and hitting often in the first inning.

Caspers were not to be denied chipping away at the Red Sox lead while pitcher Phill R kept the Stingers bats quiet.

At the end of the game it was too little too late with Red Sox Stingers running out winners in a close game 5 to 4.

This was a great effort by the Crusaders as playing with an outfielder short always makes it hard to contain good hitting teams like the Stingers.

Thanks to our scorer Liam and to our small but vocal crowd.

The Caspers Crusaders are back next Friday for their last game before the Christmas break with an 8:30 game against St Marys Saints

T-Ball

Caspers Grasshoppers

The Grasshoppers brought their A game to boggabilla for round 9. Taking on their sister team, the Casper Cyclones we had some parents talking up the rivalry.

The kids however played an amazing game, wonderful batting, with Dexter showing us how it’s done and earring himself the Player of the Week ribbon. Steve took an amazing catch while pitching that shocked even himself, and was awarded the McDonald’s award.

Everyone had a really fun game. Thanks to all our helpers who are there ready and willing each week.
